Victoria Hall in Oakham was packed last Thursday morning, with members and visitors to Rutland U3A for an open meeting.

With more than 450 members and over 50 interest groups, the hall was buzzing as people were able to see displays showing individual group activities, talk to group leaders and fellow members, and enjoy coffee and the most delicious cakes. Lots of suggestions were made during the morning for new interest groups - from belly dancing to dog walking groups, as well as language groups, bridge and tai chi!

The U3A movement is going from strength to strength with than 950 U3As in the country representing 350,000 members who are no longer in full time employment; providing educational and creative opportunities. Rutland U3A has a speaker at most monthly meetings in Victoria Hall and offers social activities, as well as groups. For more see www.u3asites.org.uk/rutland
