There is now just a week to go until the Mercury Business Awards 2016 and excitement is building ahead of what promises to be a great night.

The 11th annual awards will take place on Friday next week at Greetham Valley Hotel, Golf and Conference Centre, hosted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Melvyn Prior.

We have been inundated with applications for our 10 categories and shortlisted applicants in each category have now been contacted by the relevant judges.

Sorry if you’ve not been shortlisted this year - but there’s always next year and tickets are still available to buy for the event, so don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to network with like-minded people from the business community.

Mercury editor Mark Edwards said: “The calibre of this year’s entrants has been outstanding and it was difficult for our judges to come up with shortlists, let alone the winners!

“But we’re all looking forward to finding out who those lucky winners are, at what promises to be a fantastic evening showcasing the best of local business.”

The Mercury is indebted to its sponsors without whom the event could not go-ahead. Our sponsors are: Hegarty LLP, The George of Stamford, South Kesteven District Council, Larkfleet Group of Companies, Rutland Agricultural Society, Bulley Davey, Chattertons Solicitors, Duncan and Toplis, Viking Signs and of course, our fabulous hosts, Greetham Valley Hotel, Golf and Conference Centre.

To buy tickets for the event, e-mail linda.pritchard@jpress.co.uk.

Single tickets are £50, plus VAT, £450, plus VAT for a corporate table of ten. This includes a three-course meal.

On the night, we will be Tweeting from the awards using the #mercbizawards and the results will be on our website later in the evening. Visit www.stamfordmercury.co.uk
