Three-vehicle crash closes A1 southbound north of Stamford

Several miles of tailbacks on the A1 southbound at Grantham, north of Stamford, this morning (Monday) are due to a three-vehicle collision.

The crash happened near Great Ponton, at around 7.20am, and lanes are blocked.

Traffic is backing up for around six miles and is reported to be causing congestion in Grantham as motorists avoid the A1.

It is not yet known whether there are any injuries as a result of the crash. More to follow.
