The southbound carriageway has been reopened following yesterday morning’s crash involving a lorry and a Highways Agency truck.

The crash happened at about 1.30am and both carriageways had to be closed. The northbound carriageway was opened a few hours later, but the southbound road was closed between the A46 and the A52 for about 24 hours to remove the wreckage of the vehicles and resurface the road.

A fire broke out after the collision destroying much of the lorry carrying fruit and vegetables. One driver suffered minor injuries.
