In this role, he observed Spalding Academy - Bourne Academy's sister school in the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust (SLAT).

In a letter to parents and carers, Mr Sammy said he was 'honoured and privileged' to take on the new role, adding: "Throughout my teaching career, I have had the privilege of working in two outstanding schools. I never accept complacency and continually strive to see students in my care flourish into well-rounded young people.

"From my experience as a senior leader, I know that a successful and happy school depends on strong cohesion between all stakeholders.

"I will be working closely with the executive team across SLAT to ensure our strategic and operational aims have a positive impact on your child’s education here at Bourne Academy.

"Bourne Academy is a high performing school and it is a privilege to be leading a school with traditional values of mutual respect, effective relationships, high expectations and a strong culture for learning.

"I have a genuine commitment to providing a first-rate education for your child and I am proud to have an excellent staff body who will continue to inspire and support your child in all aspects of their educational journey at Bourne Academy."
