John Clare Primary School, in Helpston, receives 'good' rating from Ofsted

LEARN MOREA village school is celebrating after receiving a good rating from its latest inspection.
It was the first Ofsted inspection held at John Clare Primary School, in Helpston, since becoming an academy in 2018.
The most recent inspection at its predecessor - in 2016 - also produced a good rating.
The latest report said pupils 'respond very well to adults’ high expectations and positive role models', were 'articulate and confident', and enjoy a 'wide range of opportunities' including sport, music and crafts.
School leaders and staff were 'ambitious for all pupils to succeed' and ensured disadvantaged pupils an d those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) could access the same curriculum as their classmates.
The report also noted 'many parents made glowing comments about the quality of education and care'.
Headteacher Sarah Nicholson was thrilled with the report and felt it accurately reflected the school.
"John Clare is a very safe and happy place in which our children learn and flourish," she said.
"Children at John Clare are kind, considerate, behave very well and achieve great success.
"We are incredibly proud of this report and our whole school community."
