The air ambulance was called to assist a road ambulance, which had been called to the Essex Road sheltered housing complex at about 11am. The air ambulance landed in the field at Bluecoat Primary School in Essex Road.

It is believed an elderly woman had fallen. She was taken by road ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital.
