Rutland Belle will set sail again on Rutland Water from Saturday, July 4 but tickets should be booked in advance
Rutland’s iconic pleasure boat the Rutland Belle will reopen for business on Saturday (July 4) and will remain open on a daily basis for an extended season during 2020.
Skipper Matt Broadhead said: “Like all other businesses we have been forced to remain closed during the Covid-19 crisis.
"Once we were able to get back on the boat however, we’ve been busy ensuring that the Belle is Covid Safe so that our passengers can once again enjoy the sights and sounds of Rutland Water. As part of these preparations we’ve spaced out our seating and introduced hand sanitation stations. With face coverings now compulsory we ask that all passengers bring these along with them."
In normal times the Rutland Belle has a packed schedule including coach parties, cream teas, coffee mornings, church visits, wedding parties, Osprey cruises and gin cruises in addition to their very popular public cruises. Looking forward, Matt is confident that the Rutland Belle will once again be able to offer a full programme of events from July onwards.
“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming everybody back on board the Belle,” Matt says. “As we’re running on restricted numbers, we do ask that people contact us in advance by phone on 01572 787630 or by e-mail: email@example.com.”
In order to allow for a two-stage cleaning process between cruises the Rutland Belle will run to a new timetable, departing Whitwell at 11am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm and 2.45pm every day. Timetables will be posted around Rutland Water in the usual locations.
