Civic parade to mark RAF Battle of Britain memorial day through Stamford town centre EMN-150920-164935009

The 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain was commemorated with a parade through Stamford on Sunday.

Stamford town councillors, dignitaries and personnel from RAF Wittering marched from Stamford Town Hall to All Saints’ Church for a service.

Mayor Sue Sandall, RAF Wittering station commander Group Captain Rich Pratley and deputy lord lieutenant of Lincolnshire Ret’d Air Vice Marshall Peter Dodworth all laid wreaths at the war memorial in Broad Street afterwards.
