An apple tree planting ceremony took place on Saturday in the community orchard at Bourne Wood.

The tree is named after Captain Sir Tom Moore and was bought by the orchard working party as a tribute to both the Second World War veteran and those who have been impacted by Covid-19.

The Rotary Club of Bourne was also involved in the tree planting as Captain Tom was a staunch Rotarian as well as a military man.
