Arrest after man seriously hurt in crash in Uppingham

A man has been arrested after a motorbike rider was seriously hurt in a collision with a car.

The crash between a white Volkswagen Golf and a white Triumph Tiger motorbike happened in North Street West, Uppingahm, at about 5pm yesterday (October 4).

The motorbike rider suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, were he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the collision and remains in police custody.

The car was travelling west along North Street West and the motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision and witnessed it or saw either vehicle beforehand to get in touch.
