Driver seriously injured in crash that closed A1 southbound near Colsterworth between Stamford and Grantham
A car driver was seriously injured in a crash with a lorry on the A1 yesterday (Wednesday).
The driver of the silver Peugeot car was cut from the vehicle and taken to hospital. Police said his injuries were 'serious' but not thought to be life threatening.
The 27-year-old driver of the lorry and his 27-year-old passenger were not injured. They have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and were taken into police custody.
The A1 southbound was closed between the A607 junction for Grantham and Melton Mowbray and the A151 Colsterworth junction at about 7pm and reopened shortly after midnight. Fire crews from Grantham and Corby Glen attended.
Witnesses to the crash should call Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 367 of October 28.
