Arson was cause of fire on Stamford Meadows

A tree was set alight on Stamford Meadows resulting in firefighters and police being called out.

The crew from Stamford Fire Station attended at 6pm on Friday (June 10) and after extinguishing the blaze said it was started deliberately.

A mature tree on Freemen's Meadows was badly damaged and the incident has sparked some concerns over safety.
