Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre receives £1,000 which was donated during performances of Cats

Performers have presented a £1,000 donation to help keep a theatre running.

Stamford Showstoppers collected the money during its recent performances of Cats at the Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre.

The cast hosted a raffle and sold souvenir cats made by group member Alan Moir.

Director Nicola Sandall said: "It was fantastic to welcome people back to the theatre after more than a year being closed.

"The feedback has been incredible and I am so proud of all the cast and how hard they worked.

"The show also raised funds for the theatre which has an amazing team to work with."

The group's next performance will take place in February but the play is yet to be announced.
