THEY say fashion works in cycles, but a family in Market Deeping may have taken that to an extreme.
During the jubilee celebrations Thomas Genovese, five, wore a Union Jack tank top first worn by his mum Sharon for the silver jubilee in 1977.
The red, white and blue top was knitted by Sharon’s grandmother and Thomas wore it with pride to a jubilee celebration at William Hilyard School on Friday last week.
He then wore it to the Deeping Show where he took part in a crafts competition, winning a mug for his plate entry.
Sharon, of The Orchard, Market Deeping, said: “It was packed away in my mum’s loft and she pulled it out for the jubilee when she heard about the dress up day.”
Back in 1977 as well as wearing the tank top Sharon also decorated her scooter at school.
