A young guide from Corby Glen is giving Mary Berry a run for her money, after getting through to the finals of a bake-off competition.

Thea Revell, aged 10, has won a place in the finals of the Great Girlguiding Lincolnshire South Bake Off, after producing a winning masterpiece.

Given the theme of a chocolate celebration, Thea set to work and made a Easter themed cake with four layers - three layers of chocolate sponge inside the cake and a fourth to make a cross on top of the cake. She iced the whole cake and decorated it with chocolate nests and bunnies which she had also made.

Thea, who is a guide at 1st Corby Glen Guides, had her cake chosen as the winner out of 15 other cakes.

She will now go on to represent South Lincolnshire at the Cambridge Cooking School in November. In the final she will compete against guides from across the whole of East Anglia.
