Top bands Funk Soul Brother and The Houndogs are gearing up for a fantastic summer party in the grounds of Oakham Castle.

Oakham-based music agency DG Music is hosting the event to celebrate its 10th anniversary with all profits going to charity.

The party will include performances by some of the company’s best exclusive acts, including rockabilly legends The Houndogs and company director David Graham’s own band, Funk Soul Brother.

Other bands joining the fun include The Atlantics, a Leicester-based band whose repertoire includes popular rock and pop tunes from the 60s to today, and Ceilidh band Govannen whose blend of reels, jigs and traditional Celtic music always gets the party swinging.

Acoustic duo Monroe and soloist Calder will also take to the stage during the evening along with members of the Rutland Youth Dance Academy.

The summer party promises to be a great event for all the family with a licensed bar, hot drinks from the mobile Kitschen van and food from Groovy Foods.

Profits from the event will go to The Karen Ball Fund which provides medical equipment, palliative care and support for seriously ill patients and their carers in Rutland.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £3 for under-16s (under-2s are free). They are available from Music & More in Oakham, The Falcon Hotel in Uppingham or online at

Tickets on the gate will cost £15 for adults and £5 for under-16s, subject to availability.
