Barnack Preschool bake-off raises money for book corner

Children at Barnack Preschool had the chance to win a cake during a special bake-off fundraiser. It was part of a number of events being organised to raise money to revamp the book corner.

Some parents donated home-made cakes and others bought raffle tickets for the chance to win one.

The book corner is being transformed into a fantasy garden with rainbows, clouds, toad stall cushions and new child-friendly bookcases.

Manager Kirsty Adams, said: “We want the book corner to be a special place for our children, to inspire a real love of reading and books.

“However, to transform this area of preschool will cost us several hundred pounds so our committee is now busy coming up with fun ways to raise the funds and this bake off is just the first.”
