Lincolnshire Police have asked residents across the county to be vigilant of raves over the Halloween period today (Wednesday)

A Lincolnshire Alert was sent out by PCSO Stuart Bowden of Grantham Rural South neighbourhood policing team which said suggestions had been made on social media sites of ‘a possible rave in the Lincolnshire area’.

He said: “With Halloween falling on a Saturday night there is the possibility that it may be used as an opportunity to have a ‘party’.”

He referred to a number of incidents in the Grantham area, adding: “Recently a substantial rave took place at Twyford Wood, similar events have also occurred on a smaller scale at Bourne Wood and Morkery Wood.”

PCSO Bowden asked anyone who saw ‘suspicious persons or vehicles in the vicinity of these areas, particularly larger vehicles that could be capable of transporting sound equipment or generators to these or similar locations’ to report them to police on the non-emergency number 101.
