Coronavirus: Rutland CAMRA beer festival cancelled

The 9th Rutland Camra beer festival has been cancelled because of coronavirus.

The event was due to be held from June 25 to 28 at the Rutland County Museum in Oakham.

Jon Whowell, chairman of Rutland Camra, said: “ We decided that we would cancel just before our national headquarters instructed that all beer festivals and major meeting should be cancelled for further notice.

More events cancelled and postponed

“We share the concerns of our members and visitors so sadly we will not be holding our very popular beer and cider festival.

"Our festival team, led by Rich Harris, had already put a considerable amount of work into preparing this event and we are all very grateful for their efforts.

“We will be back next year but, in the meantime, please follow government advice to help protect us all."
