Join the Big Picnic at Tod's Piece, Uppingham
Grab your sandwiches and a hamper - an opportunity to spend time in the company of others is happening this weekend.
Tomorrow (Sunday, August 22) The Big Picnic takes place at Tod’s Piece in Uppingham, courtesy of the town council.
Part of the Uppingham Social Sunday series of activities, the relaxed event invites people to bring food and drink to enjoy outside between midday and 6pm.
Toiles and some outdoor seating will be provided by Uppingham Football Club, but people are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blanket to sit on.
Soft and alcoholic drinks will be available at a non-profit bar staffed by the Crown Hotel. Any surplus generated on the day will be donated to local causes.
The Bell Orchestra will attend with their giant chimes providing an interactive musical game.
Other entertainment includes skate ramp demonstrations, stilt walkers and live music, and there will be forest school craft activities with Root and Branch Out, and performances by the children of Rutland Youth Dance choir.
Entry to the picnic is free to all.
