Bishop of Lincoln officially opens St George’s Church Hub in Stamford
Bishop of Lincoln the Right Rev Christoper Lowson officially opened the St George’s Church Hub in Stamford at the weekend.
Bishop Christopher visited the building – a church office and pastoral care centre – to cut a ribbon on Sunday.
He also led two services at St George’s Church.
As previously reported in the Mercury, St George’s Church Hub, at 27-29 St George’s Street, is home to clergy, church staff and volunteers – plus two staff members from debt counselling charity Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
As well as being used by people enquiring about general church matters, a pastoral care team is available to assist those experiencing personal problems.
Bishop Christopher, who was ordained in 1977 and made bishop in 2011, is pictured with Rector of St George’s Rev Martyn Taylor.
