Global shortage of blood test equipment affects people in Stamford and Bourne area
A global shortage of some health care equipment has resulted in people having blood tests delayed.
A supplier to the NHS has advised that there is a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.
The national issue is affecting surgeries in the area, including those run by Lakeside Healthcare in Stamford and Bourne, and the Wansford and Kings Cliffe Practice.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems is still able to get one but where clinicians recommend that it’s safe, appointments are being rescheduled.
Due to the nature of the shortage, GP practices are unable to give an exact date for when tests will be rescheduled, however it will be when supplies become more easily available.
