Pharmacy staff have been celebrating a milestone with one of their colleagues who has been working with them for 30 years.
Jane Townsend, 46, started working at Boots in West Street, Bourne, when she was 16 after a successful work experience place- ment .
She soon became a key part of the team as a registered pharmacy technician.
And three decades later she is still in the job and is happy to be there.
Jane, a former pupil at Bourne County Secondary School - now Bourne Academy - said: “It’s amazing to have been here 30 years.
“The structure of Boots has changed for the better since I started. We keep up with technology. Every day I learn something new, especially in the dispensary. It’s not a mundane job. There are always exciting things happening.”
Jane has got to know many of her customers on first name terms.
She added: “I have stayed here because I have a good rapport with the customers. They are really friendly and always smile.”
Staff celebrated Jane’s milestone with a raffle to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. They also treated her to an evening at Paint A Pot Place, where family members and former colleagues joined in the party.
