PUPILS at a Bourne school have been showing off their artistic and creative talents as part of the school’s celebration of receiving a national qualification for art.
Exhibitions of A-level, BTEC and GCSE art work as well as drama performances have been taking place at Bourne Academy over recent weeks to mark Arts Council England awarding Artsmark to the school.
Head of expressive and creative arts Liz Dyer said: “This award recognises Bourne Academy’s commitment to providing exciting arts experiences and our belief in the power of creativity.”
As part of the school’s extra curricular activities pupils have also been on art trips to the New Designers exhibition in London and to theTate Modern, while other pupils have been taking part in workshops with local artist Fenella Beauchamp.
Geography pupils at the school also had a special visit when Zoolab brought animals, native of the Amazon rainforest, into the classroom to bring their studies to life.
