South Kesteven District Council leader Linda Neal will step down at this year’s election.

The announcement was made today (Tuesday) by the Grantham and Stamford Conservatives group.

Coun Neal, who represents the Bourne West ward, has served as leader for 13 years and been a councillor for 20.

Chairman of the Grantham and Stamford Conservatives Philip Sagar said: “Linda has been a dedicated, local and hardworking individual who has not only delivered for her constituents but also for the district. It is safe to say, that Linda will be leaving the district council in a better place than she found it when she took over as leader in 2002.

“Whilst Linda might be leaving the district council, we are certain that she will continue to support her colleagues in re-election, and we hope she will again contribute to public service in the future.”
