TEENAGERS learned about what it means to be deaf and blind during an assembly.

Charity Sense gave an assembly to sixthform pupils at Bourne Grammar School.

Youngsters were given an interactive talk and also watched a short film on the charity’s work.

The pupils were also given a demonstration of basic signing.

Head of the upper school Sarah Shales hopes the assembly will raise awareness among youngsters.

She said: “Next year we would like to develop our links with Sense so that students have the opportunity to learn signing or participate in volunteering work with the Bourne Resource Centre.”
