MindSpace Stamford now offers boxing to help with wellbeing
Boxing for wellbeing is now available weekly as part of the MindSpace Stamford offer of new activities.
Marc Stanier of the newly formed Impact Boxing Fitness, operating out of Stamford Boxing Club, will be volunteering his time to provide regular boxing coaching to MindSpace members.
Marc said: “I initially contacted MindSpace Stamford to see if I might be able to help them after I read an article about the great work they are doing.
“For a long time now I have been aware of the positive effects that being active and staying healthy has on me personally and boxing training just works really well for me so I am very pleased to be able to offer these boxing fitness sessions to MindSpace members.”
Boxing has attracted a growing consistency of keep-fit devotees in hundreds of gyms around the country.
The mental and physical health benefits of boxing are really profound and include:

Dr Dan Petrie, founder of Mindspace Stamford, said: “Keeping active is a key facet of wellbeing and to have the opportunity Marc has given us and our members to engage physically is really great.”
Catherine Gogerty, a MindSpace member and volunteer, said ”Boxing has given me the opportunity to try something new that I wouldn’t normally do, it’s a brilliant way to release tension and stress and has helped me to become more active and motivated afterwards.”
If you are interested in attending the boxing for wellbeing, just go along to unit 6, West Street Business Park, West Street, Stamford, every Tuesday from 10am to 11am. Sessions resume after Christmas on Tuesday, January 8.
