Boy quizzed by police after reports he had a knife in Market Deeping

A boy has been questioned by police following reports he was carrying a knife in Market Deeping.

Officers dashed to Lady Margaret's Avenue, near John Eve Park, yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

Residents posted on social media there was a high police presence in the area.

Lincolnshire Police said following the 2.17pm call-out, the boy was then taken to Grantham Police Station.

They said this followed the reports he was in possession of a knife.

A police spokeswoman said today that the boy has been released on bail.
