Boy injured in collision with 4x4 in Oakham

A young boy had to be airlifted to hospital after hit by a 4x4.

The incident happened in a field near Hill Top Farm in Braunston Road, Oakham, at about 6pm on July 9.

A police spokesman said officers were called to a report of a collision involving a Land Rover Discovery.

A young boy was hurt in the incident and paramedics were called. The boy was taken by air ambulance to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries. Police said he was in a stable condition.

The spokesman said enquiries were being made.
