Brazenose Lane in Stamford reopens after Western Power carries out work to repair power cable




Updated: 7.15pm. Brazenose Lane in Stamford has reopened today (Wednesday) following work to repair an underground power cable.

Brazenose Lane in Stamford is closed today (Tuesday) under an emergency closure.

Western Power are working in the area following a power cut in Stamford on Sunday, which affected nearly 150 properties.

Lincolnshire County Council's highways department said the road would be closed for the rest of today but when it is safe to do so, one lane would be reopened to traffic.

Western Power Distribution said the road could be potentially closed until Saturday.

A spokesman said the power cut at the weekend had been caused by an underground cable fault, which they were working to locate and find.

He said as soon as it was repaired, the road would be reopen which could be sooner than Saturday.
