AN INDOOR jubilee party took place yesterday (Tuesday) at Browing Court in Bourne.

A group of 42 people, who live at the elderly community centre in Manning Road, sat down to enjoy an array of party food before joining in a toast to the Queen.

Manager Lindsay Bishop said: “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

“We had to seat everyone in a horseshoe to get everyone in; it was so busy.

“It was a good opportunity for new people to meet the other owners in an informal fun atmosphere.

“Everyone I have spoken to thanked all the staff and said they really appreciate the effort we have gone to.”

Tomorrow (Thursday) a blue spruce tree will be planted in the gardens of Browning Court to mark the jubilee with resident Betty Giles, who came up with the idea of having a tree to mark the occasion, assisting in the planting.
