Burghley offers scenic course for fun runners

By John Lavery

Joggers and serious runners are being offered the chance to run in the beautiful grounds of Burghley House this September.

Entries are now open for the new SEIB Horseless Burghley Fun Run, which will take place on the final day of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials on Sunday, September 2.

This 5km fun run offers participants the opportunity to take in the imposing Burghley House and get up close to the huge fences the horses and riders have to tackle on the cross-country course on the third and final days of the horse trials.

All proceeds from the fun run will go to local charities, as well as this year’s Burghley nominated charities - the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Runners can find out more from the website, plus details about admission, parking and online entering.

The fun run is sponsored by SEIB Insurance Brokers, organised by Stamford XT (ex Tablers) and held by kind permission of the horse trials.

It is open to all runners and joggers; those aged 13 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Entry for the fun run is £10 and entries are now being taken online at www.burghleysponsoredride.co.uk/seib-horseless-burghley-fun-run.
