Mercury Business Awards 2020 winners finally get their trophies

The winners of our Mercury Business Awards for 2020 finally have their hands on their unique trophies.

Each of our 11 winners received a trophy made from slate kindly supplied by Clipsham Stone Cutting Company, and wood supplied by Viking Signs.

And coincidentally, Susie Nottingham who runs Clipsham Stone Cutting Company with husband Martin, was able to see one of the trophies being handed over after she arrived for a takeaway at The March Hare Bakery and Tea Rooms as owner Amy Roberts was being photographed outside!

Due to Covid-19 restrictions many of our sponsors were unable to make the presentations so Mercury editor Kerry Coupe had the honour of delivery the trophies in a covid-secure way.

The winners are:

  • Best New Start-Up - Radfield Home Care Stamford
  • Best Independent Retailer - Rutland Cycling - sponsored by Oldrids and Downtown
  • Customer Care - The March Hare Tearooms in Corby Glen - sponsored by Bluebird Care
  • Best Social Enterprise - Second Helpings in Stamford - sponsored by Stamford College
  • Business Innovation - NetSupport Ltd in Market Deeping - sponsored by Alltech
  • Businessperson of the Year - Melissa Webb of Mellow Doodles in Stamford - sponsored by the Danish Invader
  • Team of the Year - Wright Care at Home in Stamford - sponsored by South Kesteven District Council
  • Great Taste - The Catering Crew in Morton
  • Small Business of the Year - CLM in Ketton
  • Large Business of the Year - Rutland Cycling
  • Covid Bounce Back award - Evergreen Care Trust.

Special thanks go to the sponsors and judges of our 2020 awards, especially in the difficult circumstances.

Our sponsors are: Oldrids and Downtown, Bluebird Care, Stamford College, Alltech, the Danish Invader and South Kesteven District Council; and our associate sponsors are: Welland Vale, Clipsham Stone Cutting and Viking Signs.

Thanks also go to Richard Olsen of Olsen Metrix, Simon Spooner of Knife Fork and Spooner, and Andrew Heeler and Ashley Sutherland of Hegarty Solicitors, for their assistance with
judging.

Details of the 2021 awards will be in the Mercury in the coming weeks so keep an eye out!
