Business owners have been speaking to pupils at Uppingham Community College about their businesses.
The programme of lunchtime speakers aims to inspire the pupils and teach them the skills to run their own successful business.
Pupils are able to come to the sessions held during lunchtime and listen to a presentation made by the speaker and ask questions.
Joanne Hirst, business studies teacher, said: “We are keen to establish a programme of monthly speakers who can close the gap between education and the business world.”
Talks so far have included starting your own business with Chris Rawlins from Chris Rawlins Consulting, customer service with Emma Robson from Bat and Bottle, marketing using Facebook and Twitter with Hannah Macleod from Coulson Macleod and branding and marketing with Mike Dickson and Lena Cousins from Melli UK.
Principal Jan Turner said: “We welcome speakers from all kinds of businesses who are able to share their experiences, maybe of setting up a business, or particular aspects of their business, such as customer service, or marketing.”
Any businesses interested in speaking should e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01572 823631.
