Stamford, Oakham and Bourne branches of Newton Fallowell estate agents back 2020 Tree Campaign with the Woodland Trust

An estate agents is doing their bit to help the environment by pledging to plant a tree for every house they sell in 2020.

Newton Fallowell, which has branches in Stamford, Oakham and Bourne, is working with the Woodland Trust in the initiative to put 'down roots for future generations to enjoy'.

After seeing The Woodland Trust's Big Climate Fightback in November, the company came up with its own 2020 Tree Campaign.

Peter Ledger, director at Newton Fallowell's Oakham office, said: "We came up with it as a branch to give something back."

Every three months the company will donate money for trees to The Woodland Trust who will then plant them.

Peter said: "We've had a really good response from everyone as we are seen as doing something positive for the environment."

Newton Fallowell has more than 40 residential sales and lettings branches around the country, which will all be following the initiative.

The company is hoping to plant an excess of 5,000 trees over the next year.
