Kavanagh’s Tea Room based in Victoria Hall, Oakham launch range of gluten-free pastries
A catering business has released a range of gluten-free pastries.
Clare Kavanagh and Martyn Baynes, owners of Kavanagh’s Tea Room, closed their premise in Church Street, Oakham in November to focus on supplying. Now they are operating their business, which specialises in gluten-free food, from Victoria Hall.
Clare has been coeliac for 18 years, so when her son Lorenzo was also diagnosed she made it her mission to bake gluten-free pastries to fulfil their cravings.
She said: “We have worked on so many variations of our pastries and spent so long developing the technique.
“Believe me it wasn’t a hardship. Someone had to test them and we have always had willing volunteers.”
She added: “Kavanagh’s motto is ‘the answer is yes, what’s the question?’”
There are 10 different pastries as well as two seasonal Easter options, which can be shipped all over the country.
