Two communities are set to benefit from faster broadband speeds.
Work has begun on a new superfast broadband network for Uppingham residents.
Gigaclear has started work on a fibre-to-the-home network in the northeast quarter of Uppingham.
The network will enable Rutland Telecom to deliver download speeds of up to 1,000Mbps for £37 per month.
Head of sales and marketing Shane James said speeds would “rival that of almost any other community in the world”.
And more than 1,500 more homes and businesses in Cottesmore are now benefiting from faster web speeds.
BT has upgraded infrastructure as part of its £2.5b investment into fibre-based broadband and means there will be download speeds of up to 20Mbps, more than double the fastest speed previously available.
Rutland County Council has welcomed the upgrade.
