A CAFE has applied for permission to change its shopfront, despite the work having been done before it opened six months ago.
Caffe Nero, in High Street, Stamford submitted an application to South Kesteven District Council for listed building consent on Tuesday last week.
The plans include work that was done to the shopfront, including a new doorway and sign, before the cafe opened in December.
An application for advertising consent, which contained similar designs to the current plan, was withdrawn last month.
Caffe Nero was unable to comment on the application.
The cafe expects its street cafe licence to be granted soon and plans to introduce an outdoor seating area.
Nearby Cafe Black is still waiting to see if it will be allowed to keep its own outdoor seating area.
Council officers refused to renew its licence after the owners breached conditions restricting outdoor seating before 10am and after 4pm.
The owners are waiting to meet the council to discuss the issue.
