A firm that helps people with financial planning in Rutland has set up a new charity initiative.

Chartered financial planners Efficient Portfolio, which is based in Seaton, has launched Efficient Charitable Portfolio.

The initiative will raise money through donations from staff and clients, to benefit local communities in both Rutland and London, where Efficient Portfolio have offices, along with national charities that their staff and clients nominate.

The money is invested to support these causes for the long-term and for every £2 donated the Government will add a further £1 until 2015. There will be fundraising events throughout the year, with a client golf day planned for April. Money raised from the event will be matched by Efficient Portfolio.

Charlie Reading, director of finance, said: “At Efficient Portfolio we aim to support a range of causes close to our, and our client’s, hearts, in an efficient, quick and simple way. That is why we
founded the Efficient Charitable Portfolio, to make giving to numerous charities easy.”

The fund has been set up under the Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation.
