A SCHOOLBOY who set up a website for unsigned bands will host his first gig tonight.
Stamford School pupil Jacob Windsor, 16, from Glinton, set up www.newbornsounds.co.uk in February to give upcoming artists a platform to showcase their work.
Five months on he has organised a gig at Mama Liz’s in North Street, Stamford, to let people see some of the bands he has promoted online.
Jacob said: “It’s all about getting coverage for the music scene in this area as no one really gets noticed around here.
“This is why I have two bands from miles away coming down in the hope that their fans will follow them.
“The artists that are playing at the gig are something to be shouted about.”
One of the bands putting the miles in to play in Stamford is Bad Bad Me, who hail from Kendal in Cumbria.
Also playing is Market Deeping folk singer Harry Ridgeway, dancegrenade, These Kings and The Tin Pigeons.
Doors open at 6pm and entry is £3.
