Two new businesses will welcome customers in Bourne next week.

Embroidery shop Sew Friendly will open in Crown Walk on Saturday. The venture by friends, Leanne de Lima Araujo and Louise Jungmann will allow sewing enthusiasts to buy fabrics and haberdashery items and sign up for a wide range of sewing classes.

The owners also hope the shop will provide a meeting place for people of shared interests.

Between them Leanne and Louise have more than 50 years’ experience sewing and are happy to give advice to customers of all abilities.

Leanne said: “We would like our customers to have a wide choice of quality fabrics and haberdashery, receive friendly advice, meet like-minded people with similar interests and learn new sewing skills.”

The shop will host Sew Chatty events, where enthusiasts can bring their projects to work on while having a chat and a cup of tea or coffee.

And on Wednesday, May 7, Abbey Road Fish and Chip Shop will reopen as Sunny’s Plaice after a complete refurbishment.

New owners Sunny and Narinder Singh run shops in Lincoln and Sleaford and are expert fryers with more than 15 years’ experience.

Customers who like the shop’s Facebook page will be entered into a prize draw to win free fish and chips for a year.

The shop will open 11.30am to 2pm and 4pm to 9pm, Monday to Saturday.
