A GARDEN designer clinched a silver medal from the Royal Horticultural Society after taking part in the London Plant and Design Show.
Owen Morgan, of Larchfield, Oakham, designed one of only two show gardens at the event.
He was invited to take part after impressing judges with his entry to the Young Designer of the Year competition last year.
His challenge was to come up with an inspiring design for an awkward alleyway space.
His solution, entitled Come Together, featured a free standing structure with pre-grown ivy and bright colours.
Mr Morgan, 28, said: “It was a challenge to come up with a design because of the lack of light in an alleyway, and the cold snap at the start of February killed off most of the plants I was planning to use, so I was delighted to come away with a silver medal.”
