UP to 75 jobs are to be axed at Oundle-based Fairline Boats.
Bosses of the boat manufacturing firm, based in Nene Valley Business Park, have announced that up to 75 jobs are to go across its sites in Oundle and Corby as production is reduced.
Chief executive Alistair Schofield said: “It is with regret that we have to announce the risk of making up to 75 employees redundant at Fairline across the business.
“This decision has been taken as a result of the latest business forecast for the second half of this year, where it has become necessary to amend our scheduled production rates in selected areas.
He added: “The business is still forecasting growth in 2012. However, the announcement reflects the challenging nature of the global market.
“The shareholders of Fairline Boats are fully committed to the long-term future of the business.
“We continue to invest in new product development, enhancement of our production capabilities and further expansion of the brand across both existing and new markets globally.”
The news comes just seven months after the firm, which employs about 800 people, announced that it had turned the corner in stopping losses and was confident about future production.
