An ice cream parlour is adding to its menu after a successful summer.
The Ice Cream Cafe opened its doors in Star Lane, Stamford, in May. And despite a wet summer with only a few weeks of sun, the business has proved a hit with the people of Stamford.
Owner Amanda Bladon has now added pizzas to the menu of ice creams, desserts and drinks in a bid to build on her initial success.
She said: “We have often had a full house since we opened, especially at the weekends. We have had queues out of the door and the sundaes have been very popular.
“We decided to add pizzas to the menu because we wanted something different, quick and easy. Making sandwiches wasn’t an option because of the space we have.
“We felt the pizzas went with the Italian idea of ice cream quite well.”
Although the menu does have an Italian theme, the ice cream is made by Spilsby company Dennetts while the pizzas are made in Austria.
Mrs Bladon hopes the new menu items will appeal to her existing customer base and help bring new people in.
She added: “We have quite a good customer base, a lot of people come back and everyone seems very impressed with the new pizzas.
“We are going to play it by ear in terms of adding more to the menu. We want to keep it fairly small.”
The cafe will host a couple of themed events in the run up to Christmas, including one on the weekend before halloween.
Both youngsters and adults will be able to have their faces painted in the cafe and trick-or-treat goodie bags will be given out to customers.
