Fruit lovers went apple-mad for an annual produce show.
Stamford Community Orchard Group held its ninth Apple Day at Stamford Arts Centre on Saturday.
More than 1,000 people came to enjoy the many stalls provided.
One new addition this year was an Isaac Newton-themed stall, with science experiments on display for people to see.
A collection of rare and valuable books about apples were on also show for people to browse.
The usual stalls were in place, including an apple cookery from New College Stamford, an apple juicing stall with many different samples, children’s games and tombolas and advice for apple growers.
Once again members of the East of England Apples and Orchards Project brought a variety of English apples for people to try. The group had experts on-hand to identify the apples that people brought with them along on the day, many of which were taken away for further study.
Chairman of Stamford Community Orchard Group, Max Winslow, said: “The day went very well.
“The main thing is that it was such a success given that we were desperate for apples before the event.
“Everyone enjoyed it and people I have seen since have said they thought it was a great day.”
The group celebrates its 10th anniversary next year and Mr Winslow said he hoped to put on an “even better show.”
