A costume and fancy dress hire shop is moving to a spacious new premises.

Sukies Party Emporium will move from its current home in Broad Street to the former Jim’s Pets building in North Street, Stamford, on Friday, November 8.

The business has been based next to Stamford Corn Exhcange since 2008 but co-owners Christine Bradshaw and Vikki Norton decided it was time for a change.

Vikki said: “The main reason is that although we really like the corn exchange and we have a really good shop floor, we don’t really have a shopfront. It’s a listed building and the shopfront has to remain as it is.

“The new building has such a good front with massive shop windows.”

The shop will stay open in Broad Street until halloween is finished, and there are plenty of spooky costumes to buy or rent.

But once the festivities are over the move to North Street will take place. There will be a new logo and a new motto: “Sukies, where every day is a party.”

Vikki will take on more responsibility following the move as Christine steps back from the shop floor. She said: “It’s a big step but I’m really looking forward to it.”

Christine added: “The move to the new shop will give me the opportunity not to spend so many hours there. I also have two grandchildren who I look after quite often.”
