A BUYER has been found for a pot-painting shop.

Cat Speers made the decision last month to sell Paint A Pot Place in West Street, Bourne, as the business she started four years ago was becoming too much work for her.

She said she would be forced to close the popular shop if she did not find a buyer by Christmas.

But a Mercury article about Cat’s appeal for a new owner was passed on to Mark Deith, from Fosdyke, who was looking to start his own business.

Mark, 49, saw an opportunity and decided to take on the shop.

He said: “I think Cat has done a terrific job of starting the business and I can fully understand why she is leaving.

“I want to continue the business along the same lines but add some new things such as pottery and jewellery making.

“I would like it to be a beacon of creativity in Bourne.”

Cat, 27, from Tarragon Way, will hand over the shop at the end of December. She said: “Thanks to all my customers and I will miss you.”
