More than 500 people turned out for the opening night of the brand new Country Lounge Cafe Bar, at the former Little Chef premises in Morcott.

Officially opening for business on Saturday last week, the popular new cafe bar offers a ‘new and exciting’ menu, from breakfast to lunches, afternoon teas to evening meals, and a licensed bar. Sunday lunch bookings are also available.

Owner Alan Freeman was delighted with the turnout and the positive response from the community, he said: “I couldn’t believe how many people turned up for opening night, it was fantastic!

“They all really liked it and were shocked at how we’ve managed to transform the old building.”

Having ran several pubs over the years with his wife Julia, Mr Freeman is pleased to be back doing what he loves. His son, Bradley is helping to run the new cafe bar and has been kept busy with the influx of customers during this past week.

Mr Freeman hopes the Country Lounge Cafe Bar will attract customers through good food and great views of the Rutland countryside. The family is also considering launching evening entertainment, including an Elvis cabaret and open-mic nights.

If you are a local musician or band and are interested in performing at the new cafe bar you can contact Alan Freeman on 01572 748731.

The cafe bar is open from 7.30am until 11pm daily. Phone now to make a booking.
