Petition calls for Aldi supermarket in the Deepings

A councillor is appealing to the bosses of a supermarket giant to consider putting the Deepings in their plans to expand.

Andrew Bowell says Market Deeping and Deeping St James have been overlooked by many big-name stores, which have branches in neighbouring Bourne, Stamford and Peterborough.

But while residents there have a choice of supermarkets, people in the Deepings can shop at Tesco or Poundstretcher - or have to travel out of town.
